I have an MFA in fiction, a PhD in narrative nonfiction, and I identify—professionally and spiritually—as an essayist. Which is to say, I try.

I used to blog, back before you were born. I spent way too much time on Twitter for something like 15 years, until Elon's leadership helped me break that addiction. This bio will be the first to hear about it if I ever learn to take decent pictures for Instagram or resurrect my newsletter.
